Vita Prof. Margraf
After several stays in Stanford (USA), Jürgen Margraf, born in 1956, completed his degree in psychology in 1986 with a PhD in Tübingen. For his postdoctoral lecturing qualification (1990) he moved to Marburg. He subsequently became professor of clinical psychology at the University of Munster, then switched to the Freie Universität Berlin as a C3 professor, and in 1993 he was appointed professor at the Technical University of Dresden. There, following the German reunification, he established a whole new department of psychology, which rapidly developed an excellent reputation both in research and in clinical patient care. In 1999 he then moved to Basel (Switzerland) where he held the chair of clinical psychology and psychotherapy until his appointment to the RUB. Since 2010 he has been a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.
